Magnus Melau Joins the byFounders Team

In 2021, we launched a holistic impact-aware strategy and introduced an 8th T to our investment framework: Tomorrow.

As we started to invest from Fund II, we explicitly set out to invest in ambitious founders who are trying to solve some of the most pressing challenges that people and our planet face today. We raised the bar on the level of responsibility we take as a fund and, thus, also what founders we chose to invest in.

And while it’s been an exciting year with the additions of Aumio (mental health app for kids), Ento Labs (energy optimization tool for buildings), and other superstars, to our portfolio, the most recent addition to our impact-aware promise is internal. 

So, without further ado, please join us in welcoming Magnus Melau, who joins us as Impact & Finance Manager! 

As our Impact & Finance Manager, Magnus will ensure transparency in our operations and performance and he will support byFounders, our portfolio companies, and limited partners in qualified decision-making.

With a passion for sustainable finance and a background in Audit Analytics and ESG Assurance, we’re confident that Magnus will help us take our impact-awareness strategy to the next level. 

Moreover, we can’t wait to see our portfolio companies and LPs benefit from his great experience in providing deep insights into data and presenting these in a visual and digestive manner. 

He holds an MSc in Finance & Accounting from Copenhagen Business School. During his studies, Magnus spent one semester at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, before returning to Copenhagen, where he obtained a versatile financial toolbox and focused on ESG and impact investing.

Using my financial background to play my part in the much-needed sustainable transformation provides a tangible purpose that I’ve been looking for.” 

On a personal note, Magnus has spent a lot of time abroad - mainly in Central America and Asia - and enjoys the outdoors.
